What services does Meruka offer to the community?

At Meruka, we strive to provide a safe and nurturing childcare environment, where all children are encouraged to grow, learn, and develop at their own pace. Meruka provides full-time or part-time childcare for up to 60 children. The centre has four designated areas:

  • Babies (0-2 yrs) – 12 babies each day
  • Toddlers (2-3 yrs) – 16 children each day
  • Kinder 3 (3-4 yrs) – 22 children each day
  • Kinder 4 (4-5 yrs) – 10 children each day
Meruka runs a Funded Kindergarten Program in both our 3-4 year and 4-5 year rooms. An approved Early Childhood Teacher is present in both rooms five days a week, and the Kindergarten Program runs daily between 8:15 am and 5:30 pm.
All rooms participate in a Bush Kinder Program throughout the year, providing children with opportunities to explore and engage with nature in an outdoor learning environment.
The centre is open Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 6:30 pm. It is closed on public holidays and for approximately two and a half weeks during the Christmas and New Year period.
Meruka has up to 26 staff members on duty each day, and on occasion, may have students participating in practical placements throughout the year.
All meals are supplied throughout the day, and we have a cook who prepares fresh meals daily. We cater to all dietary requirements, ensuring that every child receives nutritious and suitable meals.
